“ I was debating what to have. Either it was Moes (which was meh) or Oriental Express. Wanting to try something "different," I went with the latter. The place, at first glance, is a standard Chinese Takeout affair right down to the preview photos over the counter. Two people were working that night. One did some of the cooking, while another did cooking, phone, and cashier. Save to say, I feel bad for them having to do so much in a short time frame, but on the bright side, they were super friendly. I ordered the standard (American) Sweet and Sour Chicken Combo with Pork Fried Rice. It was shockingly low for the price at around $10 for everything though it included the drink, which was separate from the combo. Even Ming Bao hosted twice as much, even when I went for the lunch combo. However, it wouldn't mean much if the wait time and taste were terrible. The wait was typical. It took about 15 minutes which is impressive with the takeout orders coming in and only having two people working that night. The food was solid. The portion size was good for the money, and the combo was pretty standard. Impressive considering only two people were working that night. Most likely going to try again to form a final opinion, but currently, it's a standard Chinese take-out place with excellent service and pricing. You can't go wrong if you try this place. ”

“ This has been the happiest accidental discovery in a long while. We typically ordered from a competitor that happened to be closed on a day we really wanted chinese. So, we found this location and placed an order. WE usually opt to eat chinese food at home so I have never eaten in, there there are tables, it is a small space. What this place lacks in space, they make up for in flavor! WOW. Thats all I can say. The portions are generous, the food tastes "clean" and fresh. The fried options (like crab Rangoon) always smell clean and not of oil. They accommodate special requests (I personally enjoy extra spicy kung po and they accommodate that.) Friendly service with a smile, and a sincere thank you. This is our new go to place (the old place has lost frequent customer to superior food.) Give them a shot and you will not be disappointed. ”

I enjoy oriental express...their boneless spare ribs are almost as good as lion city in branford and their crab Rangoon are the best I've had. Prices are great and the service is unparalleled. “ I've been eating a lot of Chinese food lately. As a vegan, I avoided it for several years, but then in 2020 I just couldn't hold back anymore. I started hitting up as many Chinese places as possible, ordering my usual General Tso's tofu and Szechuan tofu. It's become my new Friday tradition. One Friday I was sitting at my desk at work toward the end of the day, wondering where I was going to order from that day. I decided to jump on Google and see if I could find any local Chinese restaurants I haven't been to yet. A quick search turned up Oriental Express. I ordered my food and went down to pick it up. The first thing I noticed was that the price was cheaper than almost every other Chinese place I've been to in the past couple years. Yeah, but how's the food? I went home, snapped a picture of my food, and dove in. The answer the the above question is: the food is great! In fact, Oriental Express has become my new favorite Chinese spot. When I went in for the second time, the woman behind the counter recognized me and brought my food right over. I asked her ""What, you don't get many people ordering tofu?" Her response was that no one else orders both General Tso's tofu and Szechuan tofu together. This was only my second time ordering from there and she remembered me! I've been back several times since. Oriental Express has become my new go-to Chinese restaurant when I'm in the area. Check it out! ”
